Bumper Grape Harvest for 2018?

Experts from the Lanzarote Wine regulator are predicting a big harvest this year thanks to favourable weather conditions over the last few months. As long as there are no prolonged heat waves in June or July, the harvest is expected to be at least as good as last year, which was itself an excellent year. The experts haven’t discounted the possibility of a record year: which would require a harvest of at least 3.7 million tonnes. Grape production volumes can vary dramatically in Lanzarote from year-to-year: 2015 saw over 3.5 million tons, while 2016 had a dreadful harvest with just 695,000 kilos.
